Sacred Eating (ACRONYM)

Our desire here at Sacred Whole Health is not to impose upon you what you should or should not eat each day, but rather to provide guidelines that will help you care for your body as the temple of the Holy Spirit and make wise, God-honoring food choices.

The main feature we provide is a practice known as Sacred Eating. We offer you a set of guidelines for Sacred Eating, which can assist you in making mindful food choices or support any specific dietary plan you wish to follow. Feel free to utilize these guidelines as a helpful resource on your journey towards a healthier relationship with food. The basic guidelines of Sacred Eating are in the form of an acrostic listed below.

Sacred Eating Guidelines

Before meal or snack times:

  • (S) Stop and take several slow, deep breaths to help quiet your thoughts and relax your body
  • (A) Acknowledge the Lord’s presence
  • (C) Consider your motives for eating
  • (R) Remember that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit when deciding what and how much to eat (Read or recite 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 if possible.)
  • (E) Eat slowly, enjoying each bite of food
  • (E) Delight yourself in the company of anyone who may be dining with you

Although the Sacred Eating guidelines are simple, there is much that can be said regarding how they can be used to help promote healthy eating habits. To learn more about the Sacred Eating guidelines, please visit our Facebook Page or YouTube Channel for informative posts and videos.
