Memorizing your favorite meditation Scriptures can greatly benefit your daily meditation times.
Your Word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You. Psalm 119:11
Hiding God’s Word in our heart gives the Holy Spirit the opportunity to bring His truths and comfort to our minds when we need it most. It can also make all the difference in the world in overcoming .
The following Scripture memory system utilizes The Meditation Ministry Scriptures and coincides with the Daily Meditation Habits. Feel free to adapt these guidelines to an electronic version, I’m just a bit old fashioned and prefer hard copy.
You will need:
- a package of lined index cards (3″x 5″or 4″ x 6″ – your preference)
- Index card binder (I purchased mine here.)

Simple Scripture Memory
From your Scripture syllabus, write your chosen Meditation Scripture on an index card and place it in your binder.
The Scripture memory method is simply this: Take the current Meditation Scripture you are working on and break it down into smaller phrases. Then begin memorizing it one phrase at a time, adding a phrase each day until you have memorized the whole verse. Be sure to say the verse aloud so that you can hear it as well as see it and think it.
The secret to Scripture memorization is review, review, review. Your daily meditation exercises will help in this respect, solidifying each verse in your mind and heart as you study and meditate on it.
Scripture Memory Review
At least once a week be sure to review all the Meditation Scriptures in your binder.
